Brayden's Journey: Update from laser surgery

Brayden is starting to heal up great from his last laser surgery. He will have his 5th laser surgery on August 8th. Then he will have expander's put in on August 30th, he will be getting 2 or 3 expander's. We will know the game plan once it gets closer to surgery date and I email Dr. Bauer updated pictures of Brayden.

Only problem Brayden has been having is fluid under his skin where his expander's use to be. I emailed Dr. Bauer about this and he said this is no uncommon and that we should put Brayden in a ace wrap for a week and that should help get rid of that extra fluid. Only bad thing, it's so hot out now and he would be so hot in an ace wrap. So we will only have him in the ace wrap when he's at home inside.

I was so excited that Brayden could go swimming when our families were out here, but nope Brayden was not a fan. He wouldn't go near the water, he would scream his head off. We also tried the splash pad and he hates that too. Guess it's probably better this way, since he has surgery next month and can't go swimming during that time.

Yesterday Brayden went to the ENT Dr for a follow up, the ENT Dr suggested that he didn't need to get tubes in. While talking this over with Dr. Bauer, he does agree if Brayden was a kid that didn't have to go through all these surgeries that he wouldn't suggest the tubes. But since Brayden has more surgeries coming up, we won't want him getting sick and risking getting an infection in the expander's and having to remove them early. So now I am in the process of setting up the ENT Dr to do surgery the same day he gets his expander's in. I will feel much better if he gets those tubes in, he has been sick 7 times so far this year. So hopefully these tubes will help out with him getting sick so much.

He is one lucky little boy to have so many people care about him! We do have 1 box of cookbooks left to sell, I have been running out of people to sell them to, if anyone has any ideas where I can sell them, please let me know.
